We recognise the impact our activities have on the planet and we work continuously to minimise our negative impact and maximise our positive impact. This means using Earth’s resources in a carefully considered way that will not overburden ecosystems but will create a lasting and positive legacy for future generations.

We are members of the FISP, the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme and we are experienced in working alongside environmental assessment methods such as BREEAM, LEED, SKA Rating and WELL. For details on how we can help you with your sustainability goals email us at

ReForest – Buy a room, build a forest

Our tree planting programme, ReForest, sees one tree planted for each room, or every ten products sold. Our trees are planted on once forested land right here on our doorstep in lovely South Somerset. We plant native, broadleaved species, creating biodiverse, natural woodland habitat where wildlife can thrive, and carbon will be captured for many years to come.

To keep our carbon emissions as low as possible we use 100% renewable electricity. Manufacturing in Somerset helps minimise furniture miles, keeping the embodied carbon in our products as low as possible. We are a Carbon Neutral Plus organisation which means our carbon emissions are net zero. We help protect forest in the Brazilian Amazon and we plant trees in schools in South West England as well as on our own doorstep.

To help protect vital forests, we hold Forest Stewardship Council chain of custody. We can provide the vast majority of products with FSC® certification including complete kitchens. Over 90% of our furniture collection can be sold with FSC certification.

Investment in the latest digital technology and an extremely thorough approach to designing out waste help us keep waste production to a minimum. We donate scrap timber, board, fabric and leather produced in-house to the Design & Technology departments of three local schools. Our remanufacturing centre, ReWork, offers a take back system at end of life. If you have some of our products that you no longer need, contact us and we will arrange their collection and remanufacture so that every scrap of value can be retained.

We have a clear policy to reduce the use of plastics throughout each phase of our operations. Some products may be delivered without plastic packaging, most projects may be delivered using a mix of renewable and recyclable packaging. We are aiming for 100% recyclable or compostable packaging and we are currently at 95%.

We aim to create products that avoid the use of harmful substances and volatile organic compounds, manufacturing products that contribute to human and ecological health and wellbeing. We use low emitting, water-based lacquer on all in house joinery and the sheet foam in our upholstery ranges is CertiPUR certified, helping protect indoor air quality, people and planet.
